Special Event
WORLD FOOD DAY
An Opportunity for Parent Participation and inculcating in our little children the importance of Unity in Diversity
On the occasion of ‘World Food Day’ which fell on 16th Oct 2018, we had invited parents from different nationalities to bring their native cuisine to the nursery. The parents got an opportunity to interact with the children. The children got to see the variety of food displayed, touch it, smell it and talk about its colour, shape, texture and share their views too. However, the children did not taste the food due to safety and preference reasons. Parents from Sudan, Pakistan, Yemen, Philippines, Egypt, India, Ireland, UAE, Jordan, Syria, and Uzbekistan participated in the event. Certificates of Participation were awarded to these parents.

GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY
On ‘Global Handwashing Day’ which fell on 15th Oct 2018, kids were instructed and showed the right way of washing their hands in the nursery, which in fact is practiced on a daily basis before and after meals, after outdoor play, messy plays, after attending the call of nature and before sleeping.

SHOW AND TALK & SORTING
Children participated in a ‘Show and Talk’ session on 15th Oct 2018. They brought pictures of healthy food and junk food. The children spoke about the pictures they had brought, in front of their class. Teachers helped the children to differentiate between healthy and junk food and used the same pictures in the sorting activity.

OUR BABIES
Babies like to hear a sing-song voice instead of normal grown-up conversation. We chat with our babies throughout the day. You might think talking doesn’t start until the baby is older. In fact, babies communicate from birth through crying, eye contact and listening. When we talk and communicate with our babies, we build baby’s language – and our relationship too.

OUR PLAYGROUP I
Positive attention is when one responds to a child with warmth and interest. It helps the child feel secure and valued. All children do best in an environment where they're supported, encouraged and enjoyed. They grow and develop through repeated, positive interactions in their early relationships.

OUR PLAYGROUP II
Smiles are the first building blocks for healthy relationships. And healthy relationships are crucial for the child’s early development. Through relationships, children learn how to think, understand, communicate and show emotions. Giving and receiving smiles are also the first steps a child takes in learning how to be social and have good relationships.
And, of course, seeing the child smile at you makes you feel good – and it’s good for the brain too!

OUR FOUNDATION YEAR
Good communication with children involves listening well and talking in ways that encourages the child to listen to others. It’s like any other skill – you get better with practice.
Daily physical activity is good for young children in so many ways. Getting the child moving is easy when we make activity fun and part of the child’s play.
